Growing up, I used to listen to a lot of music.  I would play a song on a record over and over and over again.  I copied every word down on paper to memorize it.  if a song had a great riff and flowed with the lyrics, it would inspire me to want to be like those guys playing on those records.  I never took the time to focus and learn how to play an instrument because I was more into playing the role of a rock star than being one, so I honed in on the lyrics.  I would get a rush from a clever rhyme and the way it flowed.  I fell in love with the words.
